Regarding the job
•A 30-minute Google Online Challenge will be the first step in this application process. It will be held online on October 12 and 13 and November 5 and 6. Please keep an eye out for your email invitation and confirm that you can attend. Virtual interviews will be place in November for selected candidates.
•The Google IT Apprenticeship is a minimum 12-month programme that offers instruction and development to people interested in beginning a career in IT.
•Candidates who have finished their undergraduate studies and want to learn more about data analytics should apply for this apprenticeship.
•Please be aware that an apprenticeship is an opportunity to learn and grow in your chosen industry rather than a full-time job. 20% of your time will be spent studying in a personalised training programme, and the remaining 80% will be spent working on projects with designated Google teams to build experience.
Responsibilities
•Develop additional skills through experience in communication technology (video and voice), hardware, mobile devices, and project management. Train in networking, infrastructure, and multi-platform system administration.
•Contribute to internal infrastructure support by escalating problems to the appropriate teams. Attend the required training and take part in the designated mentorship sessions.
•Assist internal staff with all of their platform-specific IT requirements (e.g., ChromeOS, Linux, iOS, Android, etc.).
Minimum requirements:
•A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technological field.
•6 months of relevant technical experience (e.g., personal projects, coding languages, operating systems, constructing computers/apps, volunteering with STEM groups, etc.) in the field of information technology.
•A background in customer service positions.
•fluency in writing and speaking English.
Preferred qualifications:
•Experience thinking critically and problem solving.
•Interest in or experience with technology.
•Ability to work on ambiguous tasks, find suitable solutions, and seek help/advice where appropriate.
•Ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team framework.
•Excellent communication, and organizational, and customer service skills.
