Job Description

The Emerging Systems Lab/Telecom Systems Research (ESL/TSR) of Intel Labs is a creative research team that closely collaborates with Intel product groups, business partners and consortiums, as well as the academic community, to improve technology and have an impact on the market. In order to migrate today's networking infrastructure onto high volume Intel Architecture (IA) based platforms, the group studies and prototypes advanced network workloads, such as 5G Private Networks, 5G telecom infrastructure, and system architecture. This is done by combining software-defined networking (SDN) and network-functions (NFs) operating in virtualized or containerized orchestrated Cloud Native environments on IA platform. We are searching for software developers and engineers with high levels of motivation who will help design and implement network-related stacks and workloads in scalable, settings with high performance, virtualization, or containerization. You will be expected to collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate and implement advanced networking system design and workloads. You will also be expected to analyse, design, and prototype various aspects of your research, workloads, and/or system features.

Qualifications

proficiency in Python, Linux, C/C++, and system software Knowledge of virtualization, containers, and orchestrators, such as K8s, is advantageous. → understanding of network protocols and architecture Knowing the architecture and protocols of cellular networks is a bonus. the capacity to identify bottlenecks and scalability problems in systems and to suggest improvements to enhance the performance of a distributed, scalable system working in technical surroundings with uncertainty Education/Experience MS/PhD in CS/EE student in graduate school.

Operational Model

Our hybrid work approach, which enables employees to divide their time between working on-site at their designated Intel site and off-site, will be applicable to this position.
